AIA / VI COMMUNITY PLANNING TEAM

The Virgin Islands Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, AIA/VI, was commissioned by the VI Economic development Authority/Enterprise Zone Commission (VI EDA/EZC) to prepare an Urban design and Rehabilitation Plan for Garden Street, one of the older and now depressed urban communities on St. Thomas. The effort which began with a series of community charrettes, was:

• Carried out by the AIA/VI Team members shown on the left, was
• Highly successful and was
• Extremely well-received by the community

The AIA VI Team, with members shown on the left, which has since been asked to apply its expert skills to help another urban area of St. Thomas, was led by Co-Chairs:
